Scripture makes it clear that caring for orphans is not reserved only for a few Christians; it is commanded of the entire Church. Earthly adoption is a powerful picture of our spiritual adoption in Christ; we were once fatherless but are now rescued out of the spiritual “fatherlessness” of our world into God’s family. By modeling God’s response to us and to our friends and neighbors, we demonstrate the good news. This ministry team helps interested members of the Summit explore adoption and foster care and helps others provide foster care support to these families, such as providing childcare and meals.

Mebane Ridge Assisted Living
Strategic communities teams seek to make long-term relational investments for the gospel in marginalized communities throughout the Triangle. The Mebane Ridge team serves the home’s residents by building intentional relationships to care for them and show them the love of Christ in word and deed. This team serves once a month on Sunday afternoons.

Sustainable Alamance
Prisons in RDU are filled with men and women whose lives are defined by what they’ve done to break the law, but the gospel offers the chance for their lives to be defined by what Jesus has done on the cross. The Summit prison ministry shows and shares the love of Christ with prisoners and their families pre- and post-release. The Sustainable Alamance team specifically works to develop intentional relationships with post-incarceration men and women as they reenter society and engage with the community.
